Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level - PSMSL

 

The PSMSL is an international service that has been supplying monthly and yearly mean sea level values since 1933. These averages are computed based on high frequency data from tide gauges.

France's involvement in the PSMSL

 

The mean sea levels observed by French tide stations are available on the PSMSL portal. They contribute to numerous scientific studies on sea level rise. In fact, the longest mean sea level record posted on the PSMSL website is French, with measurements dating back to 1807!
