Installation of a RONIM tide gauge at Fos-sur-Mer
From 26 to 28 April 2010, two technicians from SHOM went to Fos-sur-Mer in order to install the 33rd permanent tide gauge of the sea level observation network (RONIM) in the port.
An Optiflex telemetry radar is now installed in the tide gauge equipment room situated at post 3 of the tanker port, it replaces the OTT R20 float tide gauge installed nearby and operated by the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille.
For this installation, SHOM received technical support from its local partner: the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille. Data on the height of sea level at Fos-sur-Mer will now be available in REFMAR in non-real time. Later, the tide gauge will transmit its data in real time.
